Hyundai Reveals Facelifted Sonata Sedan in China

Hyundai Sonata NFC ChinaBHMC, Hyundai's joint venture with China's Beijing Automotive Holdings has unveiled a facelifted version of the Sonata that will go on sale in the domestic market by the end of the year. The refreshed Sonata, codenamed NFC, will be produced at Hyundai's new plant in Beijing. Compared to the outgoing Sonata that was virtually the same car as the one sold in other international markets including the U.S. and Europe, styling changes concern the restyled (ahem, Nissan-inspired) front- and (ahem, Toyota Camry-inspired) rear-end.

As for the absence of a chrome strip on the passenger's side front window and on the driver's side rear window, the jury is still out on whether this is an intentional styling gimmick of some sort or if the guy responsible at the factory took a longer than usual coffee break at the time of the assembly...

Inside Hyundai's design team limited changes to the seat and dashboard trim options.
